Setting Default Application for a particular File Type

Example - Setting PDF files to open with Black Ice Tiff Viewer application

Find a PDF in a drive like G, Z, or Desktop
Right Click on that file and choose Properties
Examine the window that comes up and see that the Type of file shows (.pdf) and that it is set to open with Kofax Power PDF.
Click the Change button to change the default application to open with.
Choose the new application, Black Ice Tiff Viewer as an example and click OK.

Now all files with that same ending .pdf will open with this application if launched from desktop or other folder on the network.
